My Spiritual Journey…

iyawoim

I was born and raised for 9 years into a Baptist church. After moving in with my aunt, I was then introduced into a catholic church. I also went to an all girls’ catholic school growing up. My young days I followed the spiritual beliefs and practice of my elder family members. As I grew older, I began to search and found my own path.

I do not believe in religion. Man created religion to divide and control us. However, I am very spiritual. I believe there is one God (known by different names based on the different cultures a person look at). My spiritual belief is that, yes there is one God, the father almighty but there are also saints, angels, our ancestors and spirit guides who watches over us and protects us in this journey call life.

I acknowledge, pay homage and respect to these saints, angels and ancestors. With that being said, I am a proud priestess who practice the 101 nations (also known as Haitian vodou) , derived from Africa. I love my culture, I love nature, and I believe in using the natural things nature and the universe provides for the greater good. I attend church but not every Sunday, and when I do I attend catholic churches.

With everything in life, there is a positive and a negative side, I believe in positivity so I DO NOT hurt others. I believe God gives special gifts to a very few chosen ones and I like to use my gift to promote positivity and help others.

One thing that I will say to everyone, PRACTICING A TRADITIONAL AFRICAN SPIRITUAL SYSTEM DOES NOT MEAN YOU WILL NOT FACE DARK TIMES, BUT IT DOES TEACH YOU HOW TO USE THE DARKNESS AS A TOOL TO GROW.

peace and love,

Lorie
